Biography
V Ruskin picked up a guitar at nine years old and never really put it down — formal training in jazz performance, theory, and composition followed, then an internship under producer Matt Grabe that taught him how a record actually gets built. E11ΞVΔN is what came after: less a fixed lineup than a world he keeps building record by record, where a riff can arrive from nowhere and pull an entire song out behind it.
The sound sits in the same room as Soundgarden, Incubus, Circa Survive, Deftones, Glassjaw, and The Postal Service — dynamics and texture over spectacle. Reflections, the album built across a decade that also held a pool business, a family, and the kind of year that reorders what a person is willing to say out loud, is where that shows most clearly.
The name itself traces back to a single ordinary moment that stopped being ordinary — a wave of release, and a glance at the clock reading 11:11. Everything downstream of that — the eye in the wave, the harmonic cadence of the 11th and 22nd, the mushroom-and-eye emblem — is that same idea, drawn out.
